What is your legacy? An actor comes to terms with his past, present, and future in “Jay Kelly.” Netflix’s upcoming film follows the title character on a surprising trip through Europe. Ron, Kelly’s manager, offers a sense of familiarity as he accompanies Kelly on the ambitious journey. This project hails from celebrated filmmaker Noah Baumbach, who additionally co-wrote ‘Kelly’ with Emily Mortimer. It marks Mortimer’s first feature writing credit after the “Doll & Em” series and mini-series “The Pursuit of Love.”
Baumbach brings together an all-star cast for the film. George Clooney stars as the aging movie star Kelly. Adam Sandler portrays Kelly’s loyal manager, Ron. Sandler is an intriguing choice, potentially offering up a performance on par with 2019’s “Uncut Gems.” Other notable performers appearing in the film include co-writer Mortimer, Billy Crudup, Laura Dern, Grace Edwards, Stacy Keach, Riley Keough, Patrick Wilson, Nicôle Lecky, Thaddea Graham, Jim Broadbent, Eve Hewson, Alba Rohrwacher, Lenny Henry, Josh Hamilton, and Greta Gerwig.
