Can wedding comedies make a comeback? Prime Video hopes so with their upcoming release, “The People We Hate at the Wedding.” The film focuses on two siblings who venture to their half-sister’s British wedding. This adaptation of Grant Ginder’s novel hails from Claire Scanlon; her work prior to the project includes popular series ranging from “The Office” to “GLOW.” Lizzie Molyneux-Logelin and Wendy Molyneux crafted the screenplay: the pair are next set to write the eagerly awaited “Deadpool 3.”
‘Wedding’ relies on a solid cast to tell the story. Kristen Bell and Ben Platt star as flawed siblings, while Cynthia Addai-Robinson portrays their half-sister. Addai-Robinson is a notable addition — recently starring in “The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power.” The actress also appeared in Starz’s “Power.” Dustin Milligan, Isaach De Bankolé, Allison Janney, Karan Soni, Tony Goldwyn, Jorma Taccone, Julian Ovenden, and John McMillan round out the cast.

In the hilariously raunchy comedy The People We Hate at the Wedding, dysfunctional American siblings Alice (Kristen Bell) and Paul (Ben Platt), along with their ever-optimistic mom (Allison Janney), are invited to the British wedding of their estranged half-sister Eloise (Cynthia Addai-Robinson) as a chance for them to reconnect as – more or less – adults, and learn to love each other like they once did.
