How far would you go? Netflix’s “Night Always Comes” asks the pivotal question of its characters and viewers. The dramatic thriller follows Lynette, a woman who will do anything to ensure a better life for her family. Her quest to purchase a home becomes more dangerous and daring as time quickly runs out. This adaptation of Willy Vlautin’s novel offers an unrelenting inspection of society’s obsession with wealth and gentrification. Benjamin Caron directs from a screenplay by Sarah Conradt. Caron is known for his work on various series such as “Sherlock” and “Andor.” Conradt previously wrote the 2024 film “Here After.”

The film stars Vanessa Kirby as Lynette. This challenging role proves once again why Kirby is in such demand. It also represents her first time working with Caron since “The Crown.” Both Caron and the actress are additionally producers on the upcoming project. Jennifer Jason Leigh, Zack Gottsagen, Stephan James, Randall Park, Julia Fox, Michael Kelly, and Eli Roth round out the cast. Jason Leigh is a constant standout, with recent performances including a well-received turn on the fifth season of “Fargo.”
