'Murderville' Trailer: Will Arnett Is Joined By Celebrities In The Improv Murder Mystery Comedy Series

How do you solve a mystery without any clues? It’s an intriguing concept at the heart of Netflix’s new series “Murderville.” The project introduces a new guest star each week and tasks them with finding a murderer as well as their motives. The catch? They are not given a script — leaving everything improvised. Based on a popular British series, “Murderville” utilizes well-known celebrities from film and TV, such as Annie MurphyConan O’BrienKen Jeong,  Kumail NanjianiMarshawn Lynch, and Sharon Stone, to help Will Arnett solve murders.

Will Arnett stars in each episode and is also an Executive Producer on the series. The project represents another chance for Arnett to venture into comedy. Since his turn on “Arrested Development,” the actor has ventured into the world of animation with roles on shows like “BoJack Horseman” and films including “The LEGO Movie.” More than just a voice for the building block franchise, he’s also hosting Fox’s live-action competition series “LEGO Masters.”

The series’ official synopsis:

“Meet Senior Detective Terry Seattle (Will Arnett), Homicide Division. For Terry, every day means a new murder case and a new celebrity guest star as his partner. But here’s the catch: each episode’s guest star isn’t being given the script. They have no idea what’s about to happen to them. Together, the guest star and Terry Seattle will have to improvise their way through the case… but it will be up to each celebrity guest alone to name the killer. Join them as they punch a one-way ticket to Murderville. The six-episode procedural crime comedy premieres globally on Netflix on February 3. Based off the BAFTA award winning BBC3 series Murder in Successville by Tiger Aspect Productions and Shiny Button Productions.”
