‘A Christmas Story Christmas’ Trailer: Ralphie Returns And Triple Dog Dares You This Holiday Season

Ready to revisit a Christmas classic? Frozen flagpoles and leg lamps beware; Ralphie is coming back to where it all began in “A Christmas Story Christmas.” The sequel from Legendary and Warner Bros. sees the character return to his childhood home just in time for the holiday season. Now a father himself, he’s intent on making Christmas special for his children. The film also addresses the loss of his father, Mr. Parker, a.k.a The Old Man; it is, in part, a tribute to the late Darren McGavin — who died in 2006.

Much of the film’s story has been kept under wraps, with viewers guessing about what’s to come for the popular character and his family. But this new trailer gives us a much better idea of what adult Ralphie has been up to all these years.

Nostalgia doesn’t just end with the story — the film is bringing back many of the original cast members. Peter Billingsley, who played young Ralphie in the original, reprises his role; he’s joined by other original cast members, Ian Petrella, Zack Ward, Scott Schwartz, and R.D. Robb. Newcomers to the series include Erinn Hayes as Ralphie’s wife. It wouldn’t be ‘A Christmas Story‘ without children; River Drosche and Julianna Layne join the cast as Ralphie’s offspring.

Here’s the official synopsis:
