According to Paramount’s synopsis, Beth and Rip are trying to build a future together “far from the ghosts of Yellowstone,” but collide with “brutal new realities” and “a ruthless rival ranch that will stop at nothing to protect its empire.” In South Texas, the streamer says, “blood runs deeper, forgiveness is fleeting, and the cost of survival might just be your soul.”
Reilly and Hauser lead the series, with Finn Little, Juan Pablo Raba, Jai Courtney, J.R. Villarreal, Marc Menchaca, and Natalie Alyn Lind rounding out the ensemble alongside Harris and Bening. Paramount says the show will also air on Paramount Network beginning May 15 at 8 p.m. ET/PT, with two episodes on opening night and weekly episodes after that through the nine-episode first season.
Behind the camera, the series is created by executive producer and showrunner Chad Feehan, based on characters created by executive producers Taylor Sheridan and John Linson. It’s produced by Paramount Television Studios and 101 Studios, with Christina Alexandra Voros directing multiple episodes, including the premiere and season finale. Greg Yaitanes, Jessica Lowrey, and Phil Abraham also direct this season.
Of all the post-“Yellowstone” branches now taking shape, this is the one that most directly keeps the original show’s bruised emotional engine running. “Dutton Ranch” premieres May 15. Watch the teaser below.
