‘Wingwomen’ Trailer: Adèle Exarchopoulos & Mélanie Laurent Are Two BFF Thieves In A New French Netflix Heist Film

French actress Mélanie Laurent has really taken her career into her own hands in the last few years. While she really turned heads with one of the lead roles in Quentin Tarantino’s WWII movie “Inglourious Basterds” and immediately grabbed Hollywood’s ear—starring in films like “Beginners,” “Now You See Me,” “By The Sea” and Michael Bay’s6 Underground”— she also quickly turned to her own projects and became a filmmaker almost as soon as she popped up onto the global stage. While she’s directed things like the drama “Breathe” and crime thrillers like “Galveston” featuring Elle Fanning and Ben Foster, her latest is the French heist film, “Wingwomen,” starring herself, Adèle Exarchopoulos (“Blue Is The Warmest Color”) and Manon Bresch (known for the 2019 supernatural murder-mystery TV series “Mortel”).

The film is titled “Voleuses” in French (Thieves, essentially) and centers on two female friends. Tired of life on the run, these two expert thieves and best friends recruit feisty Sam (Bresch) to assist them with one last job — unlike any they’ve done before.” Wingwomen” also stars Philippe Katerine, Felix Moati and the legendary Isabelle Adjani in the role of Marraine, the godmother, which sounds like the O.G. thief teaching the girls the ways of the master.

Netflix has released a new trailer for “Wingwomen,” and it definitely seems like a caper with a lot of personal dynamics and comedy; Laurent and Exarchopoulos are bffs, but they need a third. Bresch is clearly the woman for the job in the eyes of Laurent’s character, but Exarchopoulos isn’t convinced and the two women butt heads.

“Wingwomen” premieres on Netflix on November 1. While that’s early, Netflix has released an initial teaser trailer which you can watch below.
