'Come True' Trailer: IFC Midnight Sci-Fi Sleep Paralysis Thriller Opens March 12

Sometimes you just want to get away from things, and REM sleep– rapid eye movement sleep– can be a nice escape and rest. That’s the premise of “Come True,” a new IFC Midnight horror film about sleep paralysis. Starring Landon Liboiron, Skylar Radzion, and Julia Sarah Stone, “Come True” centers on a teenage girl (Stone) looking for a reprieve from her recurring nightmares. She submits to a university sleep study, but soon realizes she’s become the conduit to a frightening discovery.

The sci-fi horror thriller is from director Canadian filmmaker, visual effects artist, and musician, Anthony Scott Burns, known for “Our House” (2018). Given Burns is quite the multi-hyphenate, he’s also apparently the writer, director, cinematographer, and composer of the film. The electronic score to “Come True” is by Electric Youth and Pilotpriest (the filmmaker’s composing moniker). Here’s the official synopsis:

High school student Sarah (Stone) is at her lowest point yet when she runs away from home and finds herself with no one to rely on and struggling with recurring nightmares. But there’s something curious about proceedings and being under observation seems to make Sarah’s disturbing dreams even worse.
