Arriving like an oasis island in the middle of the summer movie season, the LA Film Festival is a nice bridge between early year events like Sundance, Berlin, and Cannes and festivals this fall, like Venice, Telluride and TIFF. The program always has a few surprises, and one picture looking to impress is “11:55,” and today we have the exclusive trailer and poster for film.

Written and directed by Ari Issler and Ben Snyder, and starring Victor Almanzar, Shirley Rumierk, Elizabeth Rodriguez, David Zayas, Julia Stiles, and John Leguizamo, the story takes place during the first day of the return of Marine Nelson Sanchez, who comes back to the neighborhood he fled years ago after being involved in the fatal shooting of a local drug dealer. However, Nicky, the brother of the dealer, vows revenge, and Nelson decides to face his demons, and break the cycle of violence.
“11:55” will have its World Premiere screening on Sunday, June 5th at 6:10PM at ArcLight Culver City 4.
