After years of silence, the slickest trick in Hollywood has reappeared: a third “Now You See Me” movie, and its trailer promises a bigger, bolder con. “Now You See Me: Now You Don’t” reunites the Four Horsemen while ushering in a younger generation of illusionists, all under the direction of Ruben Fleischer (“Venom,” “Uncharted,” “Zombieland”). The screenplay is by Seth Grahame-Smith, Michael Lesslie, and Paul Wernick & Rhett Reese, from a story by Eric Warren Singer, based on characters created by Boaz Yakin and Edward Ricourt. Producers Alex Kurtzman, Roberto Orci, and Bobby Cohen are back to oversee the sequel, aiming to expand one of Lionsgate’s most recognizable franchises.

The series began with “Now You See Me” in 2013, directed by Louis Leterrier, which turned the Four Horsemen into a cultural phenomenon by blending the mechanics of a heist thriller with the showmanship of stage magic. Its 2016 follow-up, “Now You See Me 2,” directed by Jon M. Chu, doubled down on that formula with bigger illusions and global stakes. Nearly a decade later, Fleischer steps in to guide the belated third installment, signaling both continuity and reinvention as the story moves into a new chapter. The long gap between films makes this sequel as much a revival as a continuation, with Lionsgate betting that audiences are ready to return to the franchise’s slick, trickster energy.
The returning cast includes Jesse Eisenberg, Woody Harrelson, Dave Franco, and Isla Fisher, reprising their roles as the illusionist troupe who built their legend on dazzling tricks and elaborate cons. They are joined by Justice Smith, Dominic Sessa, and Ariana Greenblatt, a younger wave of performers whose presence suggests the franchise is expanding its core ensemble to a new generation. Rosamund Pike and Morgan Freeman round out the lineup, with Freeman once again embodying Thaddeus Bradley, the manipulative figure who has always lingered on the edges of the Horsemen’s story.
The official synopsis positions the film as both a continuation and a reinvention: “The Four Horsemen return along with a new generation of illusionists performing mind-melding twists, turns, surprises, and magic unlike anything ever captured on film.” With the returning Horsemen, the new faces, and Fleischer’s direction, Lionsgate is framing this long-awaited sequel as a relaunch of a franchise that once made audiences second-guess every card trick, escape act, and perfectly timed reveal.
“Now You See Me: Now You Don’t” will be released in theaters on November 14, 2025, by Lionsgate. Watch the new trailer below.
