Netflix has unveiled the official trailer for “Wednesday” Season 2, Part 2, and with it comes one of the show’s biggest surprises yet—Gwendoline Christie is back as fan-favorite Principal Weems. Last seen meeting an untimely end in Season 1, Weems reappears in spectral form, now serving as Wednesday’s sardonic spirit guide, much to the delight (and occasional irritation) of the show’s razor-tongued heroine.

Christie’s return was first revealed during a surprise appearance at the “Doom Tour” press conference in Sydney, where she joined Jenna Ortega, Emma Myers, director and executive producer Tim Burton, and series creators/showrunners Alfred Gough and Miles Millar. The reunion teased Weems’ supernatural comeback and the deliciously odd banter that defined her dynamic with Ortega’s Wednesday in the show’s debut season.
“Wednesday” Season 2 continues the adventures of the deadpan detective at Nevermore Academy, where gothic corridors hide fresh foes, renewed rivalries, and a new bone-chilling supernatural mystery. Ortega leads a cast that blends old favorites with new arrivals, navigating a web of family ties, dangerous alliances, and the unpredictable hazards of adolescent life—Nevermore-style.
“Wednesday” stars Jenna Ortega, Emma Myers, Steve Buscemi, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Luis Guzmán, and Hunter Doohan. Season two guest stars include Jamie McShane, Joanna Lumley, Joonas Suotamo, Fred Armisen, Christopher Lloyd, Thandiwe Newton, Heather Matarazzo, and Haley Joel Osment.
Part 1 of Season 2 premieres August 6, 2025, with Part 2 arriving September 3, 2025. With Burton once again at the helm for select episodes and Gough and Millar steering the season’s delightfully twisted tone, the back half of Season 2 looks poised to deliver more dark humor, eerie intrigue, and the kind of macabre set pieces that have made “Wednesday” one of Netflix’s most-watched shows.‘Wednesday’ Season 2 Part 2, Trailer: Gwendoline Christie Returns From The Dead In Netflix’s Gothic Hit
