Ahead of its world premiere at SXSW, A24 has released a new trailer for the horror comedy “Death of A Unicorn” with the clever tagline, “Payback is a beast.” The fantastical film centers on a father-daughter duo, Elliott and Ridley, who hit a unicorn with their car and bring it to the wilderness retreat of a mega-wealthy pharmaceutical CEO who wants to exploit its body for further riches.

The film is written and directed by Alex Scharfman, a producer on excellent indies like “Blow The Man Down,” “Resurrection” and “House Of Spoils.” “Death Of A Unicorn” marks his feature-length directorial debut.
“Death Of A Unicorn” stars Paul Rudd (the “Ant-Man” franchise), Jenna Ortega (“Wednesday”), Will Poulter (“Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 3”), Téa Leoni (“Madam Secretary”), Richard E. Grant (“Withnail & I”), Anthony Carrigan (“Barry”) and more.
Here’s the official synopsis:
A father (Paul Rudd) and daughter (Jenna Ortega) accidentally hit and kill a unicorn while en route to a weekend retreat, where his billionaire boss (Richard E. Grant) seeks to exploit the creature’s miraculous curative properties.
“Death Of A Unicorn” will make its world premiere next week at the SXSW Film & TV Festival and will open up in theaters on March 28. Watch the new trailer below.
