'Loki': Marvel's God Of Mischief Show Moves Up To June 9 In New Video Announcement

The God of Mischief strikes again. Hoping to avoid conflict with “Black Widow” when it arrives in July? In a small move to avoid any Friday conflicts, Marvel has announced in a new video that “Wednesdays are the new Fridays,” and their new Disney+ series “Loki” starring Tom Hiddleston has moved up from a June 11 release date to June 9. All subsequent episodes will debut on Wednesdays so that the finale won’t conflict with the Friday, July 9 release date of “Black Widow.”

The cast of “Loki” is great and includes Owen Wilson, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Sophia Di Martino, Wunmi Mosaku, and Richard E. Grant. It’s essentially a show about the Loki “variant” that escaped in “Avengers: Endgame” when the Avengers went back in time, thus creating a “branch reality” where Loki wasn’t killed by Thanos (same Loki, but existing in another multiverse essentially). The TVA, the Time-Variant Authority, led by Owen, are the gatekeepers of people like Loki that create new branch realities and try and make an order of this chaos. Kate Herron directs the “Loki,” series and Michael Waldron is the head writer/showrunner (someone who Marvel apparently really likes and will write Kevin Feige‘s “Star Wars” movie).
