Exclusive: Trailer For Bill Plympton's Mockumentary 'Hitler's Folly'

While we generally know the kind of style and substance to expect from Hollywood’s standard animation houses, for those looking for something wholly original and off the beaten path, Bill Plympton has been a favorite to turn to. The writer/director/animator moves completely to the beat of his own drum, and his work is always as exciting as it is unpredictable. And his latest, “Hitler’s Folly,” promises to be another treat for fans.

The feature length mockumentary is a cutting satire that imagines what might have happened if Adolf Hitler’s art career had been more successful and instead of becoming an evil dictator, he was inspired to become an animator like Walt Disney. Using actual WWII footage and Hitler’s early artwork, Plympton has put together something distinctly his own, in what looks to be a parody unlike anything else out there.

“Hitler’s Folly” will be released digitally on June 3rd, and will be available to watch for free at Bill Plympton’s website. Watch the trailer above, and check out the poster below.
