As its nervy first teaser from last month suggests, “Something Very Bad Is Going To Happen” is, as the synopsis below puts it, “horror’s take on a woman becoming a wife.” But it’s also a star vehicle for model-actress Camila Morrone, who has three big TV shows on the way this year. Prime Video’s “The Night Manager” S2 was the first, and this one’s the second (another Netflix series, “The Age Of Innocence,” is the third).
But will the nuptials at the center of “Something Very Bad Is Going To Happen” really end up doomed? If the new trailer for the limited series, linked below, is any indication, it’s an emphatic yes, but let’s wait and see how the show unfolds when it premieres later this month.
Here’s an official synopsis for “Something Very Bad Is Going To Happen,” courtesy of Netflix:
If Carrie is horror’s version of a girl becoming a woman, and Rosemary’s Baby is the horrific version of a woman becoming a mother, Something Very Bad Is Going to Happen is horror’s take on a woman becoming a wife. Rachel (Camila Morrone) is getting married in five days. Together with her fiancé, Nicky (Adam DiMarco), she embarks on a road trip to his family’s vacation home, secluded in a snowy forest, for the intimate wedding ceremony of their dreams. Which really would be so lovely, except … prone to superstition and paranoia, Rachel can’t shake the relentless feeling that something bad is going to happen. Her foreboding doubts, coupled with a series of eerie coincidences and dreadful surprises, force her to ask the question: What makes two people soulmates? And worse — what could be scarier than a lifelong commitment to the wrong person?
Along with Morrone, the new Netflix series also stars Adam DiMarco, Jeff Wilbusch, Karla Crome, Gus Birney, Jennifer Jason Leigh, Ted Levine, and Sawyer Fraser.
Haley Z. Boston serves as creator, showrunner, and executive producer on “Something Very Bad Is Going To Happen.” Weronika Tofilska directs and executive produces, with Aexelle Carolyn and Lisa Brühlmann also directing episodes. Other executive producers on the series include Hilary Leavitt, Matt Duffer, and Ross Duffer via Upside Down Pictures, and Andrew Sperling. Along with Boston, writers on the show include Alex Delyle, Kate Trefry, Ben Bolea, and Alana B. Lytle.
All eight episodes of “Something Very Bad Is Going To Happen” premiere on Netflix on March 26. Watch the new trailer for the limited series below.
