This summer, “Sugar” returns to Apple TV+ for an all-new mystery.
Colin Farrell is back in the title role of one of the streamer’s most popular original series, this time tackling a new case involving a boxer, his missing sister, and a conspiracy that leads the detective to the darkest recesses of the LA underworld.

Here’s a brief synopsis of the neo-noir show’s upcoming new season, courtesy of Apple TV+:
“Sugar” is a contemporary, unique take on one of the most popular and significant genres in literary, motion picture and television history: the private detective story. Season 2 ushers in the return of Los Angeles’s iconic private detective and film connoisseur John Sugar. Emmy nominee Colin Farrell returns for a new case, tracking the troubled older brother of an up-and-coming local boxer as his search for his beloved missing sister continues. As the investigation expands into a city-wide conspiracy with sinister intentions, Sugar must reckon with himself to answer the question –– how far will he go to do what’s right?
New cast members for “Sugar” S2 include Jin Ha, Raymond Lee, Tony Dalton, Laura Donnelly, Sasha Calle, and special guest star Shea Whigham.
Sam Catlin serves as showrunner on “Sugar” S2, and also executive produces via his Short Drive Entertainment banner. Other executive producers this season include Farrell, Scott Greenberg, and Chip Vucelich, and Audrey Chon and Simon Kinberg for Genre Films. “Sugar” was originally created by Mark Protosevich.
