‘The Immortal Man’: Upcoming ‘Peaky Blinders’ Film Will Get A Short Theatrical Release Before It Hits Netflix Next March

Limited windows like that are all that Netflix allows for their films, but the fact “The Immortal Man” gets one means the streamer thinks they have a hit on their hands. That make sense, given the show’s popularity, not to mention the fact that Netflix & BBC ordered two more seasons of the series back in October. However, the theatrical and streaming premiere dates are new as of today, as is the synopsis one may peruse below:

Amidst the chaos of WWII, Tommy Shelby is driven back from a self-imposed exile to face his most destructive reckoning yet. With the future of the family and the country at stake, Tommy must face his own demons, and choose whether to confront his legacy, or burn it to the ground. By order of the Peaky Blinders…

“The Immortal Man” sees Cillian Murphy return to his star role as Birmingham gangster Tommy Shelby, but there are a lot of newcomers to the series in the upcoming film. Other cast members include Rebecca Ferguson, Tim Roth, Sophie Rundle, Barry Keoghan, and Stephen Graham. Supporting cast includes Ned Dennehy, Packy Lee, Ian Peck, and Jay Lycurgo. Murphy, Rundle, Graham, Lee, Dennehy and Peck are the cast members returning from the series for the film.

Tom Harper directs “The Immortal Man,” with series creator Steven Knight penning the script. Producers on the film include Murphy, Knight, Guy Heeley, and Patrick Holland, with Harper, Andrew Warren, Caryn Mandabach, Jamie Glazebrook, and David Kosse executive producing.

Peaky Blinders: The Immortal Man was written by Peaky Blinders series creator Steven Knight and will be directed by Tom Harper. The title refers to the fact that Shelby lives on beyond the seriesPeaky Blinders ended with Shelby faking his own death and riding off on a white horse. The symbolism of that horse’s color is completely overriden by the bloody below poster art.

With its theatrical and streaming premiere dates in place, expect Netflix to provide a teaser trailer for “The Immortal Man” soon.
