Bill Lawrence is in arguably the best run of his impressive TV career, with shows like “Ted Lasso” and “Shrinking” among Apple TV+’s best, while an old favorite of his, “Scrubs,” returns for a tenth season later this month. But that’s not all Lawrence is up to these days. The TV producer also has “Rooster” on the way over at HBO, an all-new original comedy starring Steve Carell.

So what’s “Rooster” about? Carell stars in the series as a bestselling author who, for various reasons, moves onto the college campus where his professor daughter works.

Along with Carell, “Rooster” also stars Charly Clive, Danielle Deadwyler, Phil Dunster, John C. McGinley, and Lauren Tsai.
Bill Lawrence and Matt Tarses serve as co-showrunners on “Rooster.” Both also executive produce the series with Jeff Ingold, Liza Katzer, Jonathan Krisel, Barbie Adlerm, Annie Mebane, David Stassen, Anthony King, David Hyman, and Carell. The show is a Warner Bros. Television production.
