Can’t wait for the next season of “Strike” to hit BBC One and HBO Max later this year? Well, Netflix has another British crime series led by Tom Burke set to premiere next month to tide you over. Oh, and Steve Coogan co-stars in it, too, for good measure. It’s the first time both Brits work together.
Based on a true story, “Legends” a limited series about UK customs officials in the 1990s who went undercover to infiltrate a criminal drug gang.
Here’s an official synopsis for “Legends,” courtesy of Netflix:
To win the war on drugs, a group of everyday customs officers, untrained in espionage, were sent undercover into some of Britain’s most dangerous gangs. Inspired by an incredible true story.
Along with Coogan and Burke, “Legends” also stars Hayley Squires, Aml Ameen, Jasmine Blackborow, Douglas Hodge, Tom Hughes, Gerald Kyd, and Charlotte Ritchie. Abdellatif Chaouqi, Georgia Taft, and Kem Hassan round out the main cast.
Neil Forsyth writes “Legends,” with Brady Hood and Julian Holmes co-directing the six-episode series. Forsyth also executive produces the series with Richard Bradley and Ben Farrell, with Charlie Leech on board as producer.
