Australian actor Jason Clarke has added another film to his upcoming slate just a week after being announced for the ensemble cast of Tom McCarthy‘s latest. Deadline reports that Clarke will join Viola Davis to star in the Amazon MGM thriller “Ally Clarke,” a project first announced last summer. No word on who Clarke will play yet.
Phillip Noyce will direct “Ally Clark,” with Davis playing an investigator looking into an international conglomerate after the suspicious death of a close friend. Clark’s case starts in New York City, but soon takes her all over the US, including stops in Louisiana and remote Alaska.
Jose Ruisanchez and Irwin Winkler co-pen the script, with the pair also producing via Winkler Films with Charles Winkler and David Winkler. Other producers include Davis and Julius Tennon via JuVee Productions, with JuVee’s Melanie Clark on board as an executive producer.
“Ally Clark” will be the second time Clarke and Davis work together, after 2010’s “Trust.” Other upcoming projects for the actor beyond McCarthy’s new film include Netflix‘s “Gundam” movie with Sydney Sweeney and Noah Centineo, “F.A.S.T.,” and “Wind River: The Next Chapter.” Clarke also had a busy 2025, starring in Kathryn Bigelow‘s “A House Of Dynamite,” the Hulu limited series “Murdaugh: Death In The Family,” and “The Last Frontier” on Apple TV+.
Look for Amazon MGM to release “Ally Clarke” sometime in 2027. Stay tuned for more casting news on the project.
