There’s another casting change on Matt Ross‘ upcoming crime pic “Kockroach.” Deadline reports that Chris Hemsworth will join Taron Egerton and Zazie Beetz on the film, replacing Channing Tatum on the cast sheet. Tatum had to drop out due to scheduling conflicts, much like Oscar Isaac did three months ago, prompting Egerton’s casting.
Based on William Lashner‘s Kafkaesque novel of the same name, “Kockroach” follows a mysterious stranger who takes on NYC’s criminal underworld, becoming its biggest kingpin in the process. Ross directs an adapted screenplay by Jonathan Ames for the film, with Andrew Lazar and Christina Weiss Lurie producing. Production on “Kockroach” aims to start in April.
Hemsworth adds “Kockroach” to a list of upcoming films that includes “Avengers: Doomsday,” “Subversion,” and “Stuntnuts: The Movie.” The actor’s next film, the Amazon MGM crime thriller “Crime 101,” hits theaters on February 13.
