‘Fear Not’: Anne Hathaway To Star In Upcoming True Crime Series At Paramount+

With five films out in 2026 (potentially six, if Ron Howard finishes work on “Alone At Dawn” in time), Anne Hathaway may be the busiest actress in Hollywood right now. And it looks like that won’t change, although the latest announced project for the actress is a TV show and not a movie.

Variety reports that Hathaway will star in “Fear Not,” an upcoming true crime limited series over at Paramount+. Based on Julie Miller‘s Vanity Fair article, “True Crime, True Faith: The Serial Killer and the Texas Mom Who Stopped Him,” the actress will star as Margy Palm, an abducted woman whose faith helped lead to the capture of one of America’s most notorious recent serial killers. Bash Doran adapts Miller’s article for thr series. Read on for the show’s official logline:

“‘Fear Not’ tells the story of a prolific serial killer, Stephen Morin — accused of more crimes than Ted Bundy — and the unlikely bond he formed with Margy Palm (Hathaway), the last woman he ever kidnapped. Morin’s abduction of Palm, which started as a deadly captive situation, took an unlikely turn: one which included compassion, prayer and profound courage. Palm’s devotion to her faith and her insistence that Morin could be transformed, became the impetus of a relationship that lasted long after Palm was returned to safety — until Morin received the death penalty.”

Hathaway will executive produce the series via her Somewhere Pictures banner with Adam Shulman and Jonathan Rice. Other executive producers include Steve Stark and Stacey Levin via Toluca Pictures, Helen Eastbrook via Vanity Fair Studios and Margt, Bart, and Noelle Palm. MGM Television produces the show.

“Fear Not” is Hathaway’s first major TV role since the 2022 Apple TV+ series “WeCrashed.” As noted earlier, the actress has a super busy 2026, with six theatrical releases on the way: David Lowery‘s “Mother Mary,” “The Devil Wears Prada 2,” Christopher Nolan‘s “The Odyssey,” “Flowervale Street,” and “Verity,” although the last may premiere on Prime Video.

As for Doran, other recent credits for the writer include pilots for Hulu‘s “Foster Dad” and “How To Survive Without Me” at HBO Max; she co-writes both with Greg Berlanti. An alum of series like “Boardwalk Empire” and “Masters Of Sex,” Doran also created the British shows “Traitors” and “Life After Life.” Doran has experience with Netflix, too: as a consulting producer on “Beef,” and penning the film, “Outlaw Kings.”

Stay tuned for more details on “Fear Not,” like who will play Stephen Morin, as they arrive.
