Netflix‘s send-off for “Stranger Things” Season 5 just got even bigger. The streamer announced today that they’ll release the hit show’s series finale in select theaters nationwide for a special fan event. The screenings will start at the same time the finale becomes available on Netflix: starting on December 31 at 5:00p PT, and run through January 1, 2026.
The brief theatrical run for the finale will be in over 350 theaters in the US and Canada, with specific theater locations to be announced at a later date. Expect these fan events to have even more in store for “Stranger Things” diehards, too; exclusive merchandise is almost a guarantee here.
The three-part release for “Stranger Things 5” was already announced by Netflix earlier this year. The first four episodes of the show’s final season, deemed Vol. 1, premiere on Netflix on November 26. Then Vol. 2’s three episodes premiere on December 25, with Vol. 3, the finale, arriving on December 31. Each volume will hit the streamer at 5p PT.

Complicating their mission, the government has placed the town under military quarantine and intensified its hunt for Eleven, forcing her back into hiding. As the anniversary of Will’s disappearance approaches, so does a heavy, familiar dread. The final battle is looming — and with it, a darkness more powerful and more deadly than anything they’ve faced before. To end this nightmare, they’ll need everyone — the full party — standing together, one last time.
