HBO is plugging its 2026 lineup all day today, including its latest “Game Of Thrones” spinoff, “A Knight Of The Seven Kingdoms: The Hedge Knight.” But since the final trailer for the series already premiered last week, the network has something else to serve as a sneak preview: a less-than-30-second clip focusing on the its main characters, Peter Claffey‘s Dunk and Dexter Sol Ansell‘s Egg.
Granted, 30 seconds isn’t a long time, but enough to establish the pair’s odd-couple match-up. In the clip, the young Egg sizes up Ser Duncan the Tall, an aspiring knight, and tells him frankly that he simply doesn’t measure up to any knight he’s seen before. Naïve to a fault, Dunk can’t help but protest, even if Egg’s judgment may be, for the time being, correct. One surmises Dunk proving his worth as a protector of the Seven Kingdom will be the character’s motivation all season.

Knight Of The Seven Kingdoms” stars Peter Claffey as “Dunk” and Dexter Sol Ansell as Egg,” with Finn Bennett, Bertie Carvel, Tanzyn Crawford, Daniel Ings, and Sam Spruell also part of the main cast.
Ira Parker serves as co-creator and showrunner for “A Knight Of The Seven Kingdoms,” with Martin also a co-creator. The pair also executive produce the series with Ryan Condal, Vince Gerardis, Owen Harris, and Sarah Bradshaw. Owen Harris and Sarah Adina Smith share directing duties on the show’s six episodes.
