Are you a Sofia Coppola fan and need something to tide you over before she shoots her next project with Kirsten Dunst? “Marc By Sofia” should do the trick, Coppola’s doc about American fashion designer, Marc Jacobs.
Shot over three decades, the doc is an intimate look at how her friend Jacobs and his design brand have evolved into staples of American fashion. Interviewees include Jacobs, Spike Jonze, Roman Coppola, Pharrell Williams, and more.

“Marc By Sofia” is Coppola’s first non-fiction feature. She also produces the film with Jane Cha Cutler, R.J. Cutler, Elise Pearlstein, and Trevor Smith. The doc had its world premiere out of competition at the 2025 Venice Film Festival. The Playlist was so-so on it at the festival, awarding it a C+ grade (read our review here).
