‘Jo Nesbø’s Detective Hole’ Trailer: Nordic Noir Series Starring Tobias Santelmann & Joel Kinnaman Debuts On Netflix On March 26

Crime fiction writer Jo Nesbø needs no introduction for fans of Nordic Noir. But his greatest literary creation, Detective Harry Hole, definitely needs a new onscreen intro to American audiences. The first attempt, Tomas Alfredson‘s 2017 film “The Snowman,” was an inert and ill-conceived disaster, and about the worst way to meet Nesbø’s gruff, gritty investigator.

Here’s an official synopsis for “Jo Nesbø’s Detective Hole,” courtesy of Netflix:

Created by one of the greatest storytellers in crime fiction, Jo Nesbø’s Detective Hole, is a whodunnit serial killer mystery led by famed anti-hero Harry Hole. Underneath the surface, this series is a nuanced character drama about two police officers – and supposed colleagues – operating on opposite sides of the law. Throughout the season, Harry goes head-to-head with his long-time adversary and corrupt detective Tom Waaler. Harry is a brilliant but tormented homicide detective who struggles with his demons. As the two navigate the blurred ethical lines of the criminal justice system, Harry must do all he can to catch a serial killer and bring Waaler to justice before it is too late.

Along with Santelmann and Kinnaman, “Detective Hole” also stars Ellen Helinder, Anders Baasmo, Maxime Baune Bochud, Kåre Conradi, Simon J. Berger, Peter Stormare, Fridtjov Såheim, Ellie Harboe, Atle Antonsen, and more.

Øystein Karlsen and Anna Zackrisson direct the entirety of this season of “Detective Hole,” with Nesbø serving as creator and screenwriter. Tor Arne Øvrebø produces the series, with executive producers including Tim Bevan, Eric Fellner, Amelia Granger, Katy Rozelle, Rene Ezra, Karlsen, Nesbø, and Niclas Salomonsson. “Detective Hole” is a Working Title production from Universal International Studios.

“Jo Nesbø’s Detective Hole” premieres on Netflix on March 26. Watch a trailer for the new series below.
