'Kill Boksoon' Teaser: Korean Assassin Flick Premieres At Berlinale 2023 Before It Hits Netflix On March 31

American audiences know Korean actress Jeon Do-yeon best for her role in Lee Chang-dong‘s 2007 film “Secret Sunshine.” Now it’s time to catch her Jeon in more bloody and offbeat fare, as she stars in “Kill Boksoon,” an assassin flick set for a world premiere at Berlinale 2023 before it hits Netflix in March.

In the film, Jeon stars as Gil, a single mom who must juggle the demanding career as a professional killer with her role as a mother to a teenage girl. As Gil mulls retirement for more time with her daughter, she discovers her next target at a parent-teacher meeting and has her work and home life collide.  

Alongside Jeon Do-yeon, “Kill Boksoon” also stars “Peninsula” actor Koo Kyo-hwan as Gil’s hitman competitor, Sul Kyung-gu, and E Som.  Byun Sung-hyun writes and directs the film, fresh off of 2022’s political drama “Kingmaker.”

“Kill Boksoon” has its world premiere in the Berlinale Special section this month. After that, Netflix has it slated to premiere on March 31. So mark your calendars, K-drama fans.
