“Ozark” only just ended earlier this year, but Jason Bateman already has another project with Netflix on deck. Deadline reports that Bateman will team up with Jude Law for “Black Rabbit,” a one-hour limited series for the streamer. Both actors are attached to star and executive produce the series, with Bateman also on board to direct. It’ll be the first time the pair have acted together on-screen.

What’s the premise of “Black Rabbit”? That’s under wraps at the moment, but “King Richard” screenwriter Zach Baylin pens the series with his wife and creative partner Kate Susman. Baylin and Susman also co-executive produce through Youngblood Pictures along with Bateman and Micahel Costigan‘s Aggregate Films, and Law and Ben Jackson‘s Riff Raff Entertainment.
Bateman already has another project lined up for Netflix: “Dark Wire,” an FBI surveillance thriller. Aggregate Films has a bunch of other projects on the way too, including the Peacock series “Based On A True Story” with Kaley Cuoco, Netflix’s romantic comedy “Your Place Or Mine,” and Apple TV+‘s limited series “Lessons In Chemistry” with Brie Larson.
Law is currently in production on Disney+’s “Star Wars: Skeleton Crew.” He stars next as Captain Hook in David Lowery‘s “Peter Pan And Wendy,” also for Disney+. Other upcoming roles include King Henry VIII in “Firebrand,” a historical thriller with Alicia Vikander.
As for Baylin, he’s hard at work on several projects. He just co-wrote the script for MGM‘s “Creed III,” which comes out March 3, 2023. He’s also penning “Exodus,” Reinaldo Marcus Green‘s Bob Marley biopic for Paramount, and Rupert Sanders‘ remake of “The Crow.”
Expect more news on “Black Rabbit” soon. While the show’s plot remains a mystery, given Bateman’s success with Netflix on “Ozark,” expect this upcoming limited series to be among the most anticipated TV shows of the near future.
