As 2022 comes to a close, Noah Baumbach‘s latest film, “White Noise,” adapted from Don Delillo‘s 1985 novel of the same name, finally premieres on Netflix. That’s after the movie’s world premiere at the Venice Film Festival in September and limited theatrical run earlier this month. So is “White Noise” worth the wait for Netflix subscribers? That’s a difficult question to answer. The film is undoubtedly Baumbach’s most ambitious to date, but Delillo’s novel is a dense, cryptic book, and not the easiest to adapt for a general audience.
But to drum up hype for the movie’s release, Netflix has released a new exclusive clip from “White Noise.” And it’s not just a short little snippet either. Instead, it’s the final credits sequence of the film, which acts as a music video of sorts for the new song LCD Soundsystem recorded for the movie, “new body rhumba.” The clip turns an ’80s local supermarket into a kind of/sort of dancefloor, seeing shoppers and staff break down into choreographed dancing throughout the store. It’s one of the more aspiring sequences of Baumbach’s career.
