Georgina Campbell had her big-screen breakout last month with Zach Cregger‘s twisty, face-melting horror debut “Barbarian.” So, what’s next for the actress? Deadline reports that Campbell joins Liam Neeson and Joe Keery in Studiocanal‘s upcoming sci-fi drama “Cold Storage.”

The film follows a small group of people led by a bioterror expert in a race against time to destroy a dangerous micro-organism before it escapes a research facility. Here’s Deadline’s synopsis of the film:
Several decades ago, a highly infectious, constantly mutating micro-organism — capable of extinction-level destruction — was contained in a military facility. In the present day, the military has sealed the facility’s lowest sublevel, selling the remaining space to a self-storage company. As temperatures rise underground, the micro-organism finds a way to escape — and if left to spread, it will soon uncontrollably multiply around the world. The fate of humanity now rests on a retired bioterror operative and two unlikely heroes employed in the facility, who are caught in a race against time to destroy the organism and save mankind.
Jonny Campbell directs “Cold Storage,” with “Zombieland” and “Panic Room” producer Gavin Polone backing the film through Studiocanal. Studiocanal scooped up the film at the 2022 Cannes market earlier this year.
Beyond “Barbarian,” Campbell also starred in Apple TV+‘s “Suspicion” earlier this year. Other recent roles include Prime Video‘s “The Pale Horse,” HBO‘s “His Dark Materials,” and BBC America‘s “Broadchurch.” Campbell’s other upcoming projects include Teresa Sutherland‘s horror film “Lovely, Dark and Deep” and “A Ciegas,” the international spin-off to Netflix‘s 2019 hit “Bird Box.” Â
So, will “Cold Storage” put Georgina Campbell’s Hollywood star further on the rise? The film’s not in production yet, so expect it to get a 2024 release.
