Is there an audience for a new take on “The Office,” twelve years after the hit show ended? Peacock will find out next month when “The Paper” premieres on the streamer.

The spinoff features the same set-up as the legendary original show, just with a different subject. This time, a Midwestern newspaper is the setting for a documentary crew to follow the workplace’s various hijinks.

The documentary crew that immortalized Dunder Mifflin’s Scranton branch in the Emmy Award-winning series “The Office” find a new subject when they discover a historic Midwestern newspaper and the publisher trying to revive it.
Domhnall Gleeson leads the ensemble cast of “The Paper,” with Sabrina Impacciatore, Chelsea Frei, Melvin Gregg, Gbemisola Ikumelo, Alex Edleman, Ramona Young, Tim Key, and Oscar Nuñez co-starring as series regulars. Guest stars this season include Eric Rahill, Tracy Letts, Molly Ephraim, Mo Welch, Allan Havey, Duane Shepard Sr., Nate Jackson, and Nancy Lenehan.
“The Office” co-creator Greg Daniels serves as co-creator, co-showrunner, and writer on “The Paper” with Micahel Koman. Daniels also directs the show’s pilot. Other directors on “The Paper” for its first season include Ken Kwapis, Yana Gorskaya, Paul Lierberstein, Tazbah Chavez, Jason Woliner, Jennifer Celotta, Matt Sohn, Dave Rogers, and Jeff Blitz.
Executive producers on “The Paper” include Ricky Gervais, Stephen Merchant, Howard Klein, Ben Silverman, and Banijay Americas.
