Because a date announcement teaser for “You” Season 5 dropped this morning, unveiling its premiere date: April 24. In the show’s final episodes, Penn Badgley‘s Joe Goldberg is back in NYC at the top of the world. But thankfully, for those who’ve watched this obsessive serial killer murder his way to power and success over four seasons, Joe’s comeuppance is closer than he realizes.

Here’s a longline for “You” Season 5, courtesy of Netflix:

In the epic fifth and final season, Joe Goldberg returns to New York to enjoy his happily ever after… until his perfect life is threatened by the ghosts of his past and his own dark desires.

Along with Badgley, “You” Season 5 also stars Charlotte Richie, reprising her role from S4, with Madeline Brewer, Anna Camp, and Griffin Matthews joining the cast.

“You” S5 marks the first season of the series without executive producer Sera Gamble as showrunner.  Writers and executive producers Michael Foley and Justin Lo replace her at this position. Gamble remains EP, however, with Badgley, Greg Berlanti, Sarah Schechter, Leigh London Redman, Leslie Morgenstein, Gina Girolamo, Marcos Siega, and Neil Reynolds.

Writers this season include Foley, Lo, Hilary Benefiel, Kelli Breslin, Reynolds, Maren Caldwell, Kara Lee Corthron, Dylan Cohen, Amanda Johnson-Zetterström, and Leo Richardson.

All ten episodes of “You” S5 premiere on April 24 on Netflix. Watch the date announcement teaser below.
