Back in 2024, cinematographer-turned-director Rachel Morrison brought her feature debut, “The Fire Inside,” to TIFF, to positive acclaim (although The Playlist’s review only graded it a C+; read it here). Now Morrison returns to the same fest with her second film, “Love Of Your Life,” a romantic drama starring Margaret Qualley, with Amazon MGM Studios ready to release it in theaters and on streaming later this Fall.
Qualley’s third film this year, after “How To Make A Killing” and Ridley Scott‘s upcoming blockbuster “The Dog Stars,” “Love Of Your Life” follows a young woman who gets swept up in a life-changing romance, only for the future she thinks is ahead of her to lead to self-reckoning about who she is and what she really wants. Gabriel Basso co-stars.

Directed by Rachel Morrison (The Fire Inside), LOVE OF YOUR LIFE follows Maya (Margaret Qualley), whose chance encounter with Charlie (Gabriel Basso) sets in motion a sweeping romance and a future beyond anything she had imagined. When that future is suddenly upended, Maya is sent hurtling toward an unexpected new life—one that will force her to reckon with who she is, what she wants, and how to love again.
Along with Qualley and Basso, “Love Of Your Life” also stars Patrick Schwarzenegger, Aaron Pierre, Catherine Keener, Tamara Lawrence, and Corey Johnson.
Morrison directs a script by Julia Cox for her sophomore feature. Producers include Ryan Gosling and Jessie Henderson.
