'Moxie': Amazon Lands FBI Stripper Action Comedy With Keke Palmer Set To Star

Keke Palmer is undoubtedly one of 2022’s breakout stars thanks to turns in “Alice,” “Lightyear,” and Jordan Peele‘s “NOPE.” The actress culminates the year by hosting “Saturday Night Live” tomorrow night, too, a telltale sign that someone’s made it. Now, Deadline reports Palmer has another major project on the way, with Amazon scooping it up from the marketplace.

Palmer will star in “Moxie,” an upcoming action comedy from “Hawkeye” director Bert and screenwriter Heather Quinn. The film follows a foul-mouthed stripper who aggravates the FBI when she somehow becomes the best candidate for their fancy new agent program. Bert and Quinn know each other from “Hawkeye,” where Quinn penned episodes. Quinn also wrote the recent Marvel Halloween special “Werewolf By Night.” Bert’s directed the Viola Davis pic “Troop Zero” before she and Bertie helmed “Hawkeye.”

Palmer’s other upcoming films include “Being Mortal” with Aziz Ansari and a voice role in the animated musical comedy “Under The Boardwalk.” Also, this afternoon, the New York Film Critics Association awarded Palmer their Best Supporting Actress award for her role in “NOPE.” So, not a bad year all around for Ms. Palmer.

More news on casting for “Moxie” in due time, but expect this to be a star vehicle for Keke Palmer.
