Two new trailers in one week for Paul Thomas Anderson‘s “One Battle After Another“? That appears to be the case, and the latest one linked below offers the clearest look yet at the film’s plot.
And, yes, while it was already apparent to Thomas Pynchon aficionados long ago, the new trailer confirms that “One Battle Another” is indeed a loose retelling of the novelist’s 1990 novel. Leonardo DiCaprio stars in the film as a former revolutionary on the run as he tries to save his daughter (newcomer Chase Infiniti) from his longtime enemy, Sean Penn‘s Colonel Lockjaw.

“When their evil enemy resurfaces after 16 years, a group of ex-revolutionaries reunites to rescue one of their own’s daughter.”
“One Battle After Another” also stars Benicio del Toro, Regina Hall, Teyana Taylor, Wood Harris, and Alana Haim.
Anderson directs his own screenplay for “One Battle After Another.” He also produces with Adam Somner and Sara Murphy, with Will Weiske serving as executive producer. And several Anderson regulars also work on the picture, including composter Jonny Greenwood, director of photography Michael Bauman, production designer Florencia Martin, editor Andry Jurgensen, costume designer Colleen Atwood, and casting director Cassanda Kulukundis.
“One Battle After Another” hits theaters and IMAX on September 26, and starts its international theater run two days earlier on September 24. Watch the new trailer for the film below.
