'The Greatest Hits': Lucy Boynton Will Stars In Ned Benson's Latest Film From Searchlight Pictures

Ned Benson made a big splash in 2014 with his trifecta film debut “The Disappearance Of Eleanor Rigby.” The films star a first-rate ensemble that includes Jessica Chastain, James McAvoy, Viola Davis, William Hurt, and more to tell a romantic epic about love and loss. Benson’s debut was a big swing, but he’s been silent since, with only a story credit on “Black Widow” to his name.

Now, Deadline reports, Benson’s back with his next movie, “The Greatest Hits,” with Lucy Boynton slated to star. Boynton joins the film after she leaves an upcoming biopic about Marianne Faithfull, citing creative differences.  The new film sounds similar to “Rigby,” a soulful romantic comedy that revolves around the connection between music and memory. But given her performances in “Bohemian Rhapsody” and “Sing Street,” Boynton is a good fit for the female lead. No news on a male lead yet, but Searchlight Pictures has the movie has set a September start date for the film.

Boyton stars next in Netflix‘s “The Pale Blue Eye” with Christian Bale and Harry Melling. She’s also in Searchlight’s “Chevalier,” about the French-African composer Joseph Bologne, Chevalier de Saint-Georges. “Chevalier” has its world premiere next month at TIFF.  Recent small-screen efforts for Boynton include BritBox‘s Agatha Christie adaptation “Why Didn’t They Ask Evans?” and the AMC+ series “The Ipcress File.”

There’s no word yet on when “The Greatest Hits” will hit theaters, but with a September start date for production, expect a mid-late 2023 release.
