Wedding Season,” an upcoming series from Hulu, takes this premise of wild wedding parties to the hilt. The new show follows a couple, Katie and Stefan, who fall for each other at a friend’s wedding, despite Katie already having a fiancé. And then, after Katie gets married, things take a much more twisted turn. Created by one of The Playlist’s founding writers, Oliver Lyttleton (that’s our boy!), who also wrote the series, this genre-busting, action-packed, globe-trotting murder mystery will leave audiences guessing.

Here’s the show’s official synopsis, courtesy of Hulu:

The genre-busting series tells the story of Katie and Stefan, who fall for each other at a wedding and begin an affair, despite Katie already having a fiancé. Two months later, at Katie’s wedding, her new husband and his entire family are murdered. The police think Stefan did it. Stefan thinks Katie did it. And no one knows for sure what the truth is. The series is an action-packed romp across the U.K. and the U.S. as Katie and Stefan go on the run, all while trying to prove their innocence.

The upcoming series stars Rosa Salazar as Katie and Gavin Drea as Stefan. “Wedding Season” also stars Jade Harrison, Jamie Michie, Callie Cooke, Bhav Joshi, Ioanna Kimbrook, and Omar Baroud.

U.K. director George Kane, who did “Crashing” for Netflix in 2016, and Amazon Prime’sFlack” in 2019, directs Lyttleton’s script for the series.

“Wedding Season” looks to give a brand-new definition for a runaway bride. So, how will audiences take to it? Find out when the series premieres on Hulu on September 8. Check out first-look photos for the show below.
