‘Five Nights At Freddy’s 2’ Trailer: Blumhouse’s Animatronic Terror Returns To Theaters On December 5

In 2023, “Five Nights At Freddy’s” became an unlikely box office smash hit, grossing nearly $300 million worldwide and becoming not just the highest-grossing film of the year but Blumhouse‘s highest-grossing pic ever. You know what that means: a sequel is inevitable, and it finally hits theaters this December.

And Blumhouse hopes the animatronic horrors of “Five Nights At Freddy’s 2” still cast a spell for audiences, because the small studio is having a meager box office year so far. So, will the sequel surpass expectations like its predecessors, or go the way of “M3GAN 2.0“? Horror fans will soon find out.

Here’s an official synopsis for “Five Nights At Freddy’s 2,” courtesy of Blumhouse:

One year has passed since the supernatural nightmare at Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza. The stories about what transpired there have been twisted into a campy local legend, inspiring the town’s first ever Fazfest. Former security guard Mike (Josh Hutcherson) and police officer Vanessa (Elizabeth Lail) have kept the truth from Mike’s 11-year-old sister, Abby (Piper Rubio), concerning the fate of her animatronic friends. But when Abby sneaks out to reconnect with Freddy, Bonnie, Chica, and Foxy, it will set into motion a terrifying series of events, revealing dark secrets about the true origin of Freddy’s, and unleashing a long-forgotten horror hidden away for decades.

Along with Hutcherso, Lail, and Rubio, Theodus Crane and Matthew Lillard also return for “Fives Nights At Freddy’s 2.” New cast members include Freddy Carter, Wayne Knight, Mckenna Grace, and Skeet Ulrich.

Emma Tammi returns to direct “Five Nights At Freddy’s 2” from a script by game creator Scott Cawthon. Blumhouse founder Jason Blum also returns to produce with Cawthon. Executive producers on the film include Tammi, Beatriz Sequeira, Christopher Warner, Russell Binder, and Marc Mostman.
