Who will star alongside Charli xcx in her A24 film, “The Moment“? Deadline has the answer there, and the names shouldn’t surprise anyone. Kylie Jenner, Rachel Sennott, and Kate Berlant are the latest to join the cast of the buzzy project and the British music artist’s pivot into moviemaking.

Aidan Zamiri directs “The Moment,” about a rising pop star as she navigates the complexities of fame and industry pressure while she prepares for her arena-tour debut. Zamiri also co-writes the film with Bertie Brandes. As for who Jenner, Sennott, and Berlant play in the project, that’s yet to be determined, but they join Alexander Skarsgård, Rosanna Arquette, Trew Mullen, Jamie Demetriou, and others on the wider cast sheet. Longtime Charli xcx collaborator A.G. Cook is also part of the cast, and provides original music for the film.
Charli xcx produces the pic via her Studio365 label, as does David Hinojosa via 2 AM. Executive producers include Brandon Creed, Mikey Schwarz-Wright, and Zach Nutman.
“The Moment” is, ahem, Charli xcx’s biggest play in what looks to be a major turn into the film industry. But she has several other onscreen roles hitting theaters soon, like Julia Jackman‘s “100 Nights Of Hero,” Pete Ohs‘ “Erupcja,” and Romain Gavras‘ “Sacrifice.” Other upcoming roles for the multi-hyphenate include Gregg Araki‘s long-gestating “I Want Your Sex” and Daniel Goldhaber‘s “Faces Of Death,” if that film ever reaches audiences.
A24 plans to have “The Moment” in theaters next year, so expect production on the film to get underway soon. Don’t be surprised if Charli xcx has new music ready when the film is, too.
