One of A24‘s biggest 2026 films has a theatrical release date at last. Variety reports that “The Drama,” starring Zendaya and Robert Pattinson, will hit theaters on April 3, 2026. Official plot details for Kristoffer Borgli’s follow-up to 2023’s buzzy “Dris set toScenario” remain under wraps, but apparently it’s about a couple whose romance faces unexpected issues ahead of their big day.
It’s Borgli’s second film with A24 after “Dream Scenario,” but it’s the names of Zendaya and Pattinson that build the hype here. They’re two of the biggest actors working today, and “The Drama” is just one of three films they’ll appear in together in 2026. The other two? Christopher Nolan‘s “The Odyssey” and Denis Villeneuve’s “Dune: Part 3.”
Here’s what else we know about “The Drama” ahead of its release next April. Alana Haim, Mamoudou Athie, and Hailey Gates also star in the film, with Borgli writing, directing, and producing via Dilemma Films with Tyler Campellone. Other producers on the film include Ari Aster and Lars Knudsen via Square Peg. “The Drama” will be the seventh team-up between Square Peg and A24, after all four of Aster’s directed features, “Dream Scenario,” and this year’s “Death Of A Unicorn.”
Zendaya has one other gigantic movie bowing next year in “Spider-Man: Brand New Day,” as well as “Euphoria” Season 3, so expect to see her everywhere in 2026. As for Pattinson, he stars in Lynne Ramsay‘s “Die My Love” on November 7, with Lance Oppenheim‘s “Primetime” and the heist movie “Here Comes The Flood” also scheduled for release next year. Further out for the actor? “The Batman Part II” in 2027.
Of course, there’s a bunch of other intriguing A24 releases in 2026 as well, like Charli xcx‘s “The Moment,” Ruben Östlund‘s “The Entertainment System Is Down,” and Michael Sarnoski‘s “The Death Of Robin Hood.” But expect “The Drama” to make a splash when it arrives next Spring before the rest of those make it into theaters.
