‘The Lord Of The Rings: The Rings Of Power’ Season 3 First Look: Middle-Earth Series Returns Alongside Sauron November 11 On Prime

Yesterday, it was made official that the third season of Prime Video’s massive event series “The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power” will finally make its grand return this fall after some speculation that the streamer might miss a 2026 date, but that’s being erased with the new announcement.

Amazon has revealed that “The Rings of Power” will debut on the service on November 11, 2026, as the show will continue to follow the events of the Second Age, leading up to the fall of Sauron and the death of Isildur, placing the wheels into motion for the Third Age tales explored in the novels.

“The Rings of Power” brings to screens for the very first time the heroic legends of the fabled Second Age of Middle-Earth’s history. This epic drama is set thousands of years before the events of J.R.R. Tolkien’s “The Hobbit” and “The Lord of the Rings” books, and takes viewers back to an era in which great powers were forged, kingdoms rose to glory and fell to ruin, unlikely heroes were tested, hope hung by the finest of threads, and the greatest villain that ever flowed from Tolkien’s pen threatened to cover all the world in darkness. The series follows an ensemble cast of characters, both familiar and new, as they confront the long-feared re-emergence of evil to Middle-Earth. From the darkest depths of the Misty Mountains to the majestic forests of the elf capital of Lindon, to the breathtaking island kingdom of Númenor, to the farthest reaches of the map, these kingdoms and characters will carve out legacies that live on long after they are gone. Jumping forward several years from the events of Season Two, Season Three takes place at the height of the War of the Elves and Sauron, as the Dark Lord seeks to craft the One Ring that will give him the edge he needs to win the war, bind all peoples to his will – and at last rule all Middle-Earth.

Season 3 of “The Rings of Power” is produced by Amazon MGM Studios with showrunners and executive producers J.D. Payne and Patrick McKay. Other executive producers on the fantasy series are Lindsey Weber, Justin Doble, Kate Hazell, and director Charlotte Brandstrom. Matthew Penry-Davey also produces alongside co-producers Ally O’Leary, Tim Keene, and Andrew Lee.

Morfydd Clark (Galadriel), Charlie Vickers (Sauron), Robert Aramayo (Elrond), and Ismael Cruz Córdova (Arondir) topline a rather large ensemble cast. Next up, after the first look image below (Vickers as Sauron in Season 3), is an expected teaser trailer for “The Rings of Power,” which is likely just around the corner with San Diego Comic-Con arriving in July.
