Not too long ago, we were surprised that Paramount Pictures and MTV quietly announced that they would be releasing a fifth “Jackass” movie this summer, and Johnny Knoxville, the face of the ensemble stunt-based trope of goofballs, has revealed in a new interview that “Jackass 5” is being planned as their swan song.
Speaking with Rolling Stone Magazine, Knoxville revealed that the next movie will be their last, and maybe it’s the right time, given that a bulk of the OG members of “Jackass” are getting way too long in the tooth.

“This will be the last one. This is the natural place to end. So it’s going to be absolutely awful,” Knoxville said of the fate of the “Jackass” film franchise. This shouldn’t be all that shocking, as Knoxville and others have previously discussed their injuries incurred from the show and films, making it tough to do any serious stunts moving forward.
Bam Margera (due to soberity issues that caused insurance/contract problems with the studio) and his beloved “CKY” crew (many have long retired from the spolight and removed themselves from that world) was absent from “Jackass Forever” but was topped up with a group of young newcomers (Rachel Wolfson, Zach Holmes, Jasper Dolphin, Eric Manaka, and Sean McInerney) alongside notable prankster Eric Andre, who would team up with longtime producer/director Jeff Tremaine for the wacky roadtrip film “Bad Trip.”
We assume that Knoxville will see those newbies back alongside Andre and other OG members such as Steve-O, Chris Pontius, Jason Acuna, Preston Lacy, Dave England, and Ehren McGhehey. Although at this time, we’re unsure if the newly sober Margera is going to participate, unless that is made official.
With that said, Knoxville had this to say about Margera when he was brought up, “I hear he’s doing a lot better, and that makes me happy, because we’ve been through so much together and I love him. I’m happy he’s doing well.”
While we wait for a first-look teaser trailer from Paramount, the studio has officially slotted the gonzo pic for a release date of June 26. We’re very interested to see how they top themselves with this next movie.
