It’s been a hot minute since Greek filmmaker Argyris Papadimitropoulos (“Suntan”) gave us a feature film, his last release being 2020’s “Monday” starring Sebastian Stan (“Avengers: Doomsday”) and Denise Gough (“Andor”), but that is changing with his next project, “Oh, How Fun!“
The new film, described as a satriical comedy set on a posh Greek island and could be seen as similar to “The White Lotus,” has enlisted Hollywood actors Édgar Ramírez (“Zero Dark Thirty,” “Emilia Pérez”), Charlotte Gainsbourg (“The Phoenician Scheme”), and Annabelle Wallis (“Malignant”), according to a report from Variety, as the movie is heading to the Cannes Film Market.

A logline for “Oh, How Fun!’ was also mentioned in the outlet’s reveal:
“Follows the wealthy British Skidmore family and their privileged guests vacationing in a pristine Greek island villa where days unfold in a haze of ‘languid afternoons, exquisitely plated meals, infinity pools, designer kaftans, and a cherished tradition of… pranks!’ But when the group’s “master prank” goes spectacularly wrong, the holiday spirals into chaos. A satirical comedy of excess, entitlement, and the twisted human talent for justifying anything, as well as exposes the absurdities of wealth and a disconnection from reality.“
Others named among the cast include Lena Headey (“Game of Thrones,” “Dredd”), Angeliki Papoulia (“The Lobster,” “Dogtooth”), Makis Papadimitriou (“Suntan”), and filmmaker/disabilities advocate Spyros Dadanides.
“I have always been interested in human behavior under pressure. In characters defined not by what they claim to be, but by what they reveal unintentionally. In systems that reveal themselves through small cracks,” Papadimitropoulos said in an official statement. “What changes here is the scale of play. The openness of humour. The willingness to embrace absurdity without losing rigor.”
“Oh, How Fun!” is expected to get in front of cameras later this year, with Lucky Number tackling the film’s international sales, and also CAA Media Finance co-representing the U.S. rights.
The global producing team assembled includes Fenia Cossovitsa at Blonde Audiovisual Productions, Nicholas Alavanos and Dimitris Logiadis at Filmiki Productions from Greece, Fanny-L Malo at La Boîte à Fanny, The FLM Box from Canada, and Stephen Spence (Subculture), alongside Andrea B Ottmar (“Sentimental Value”), Afroditi Panagiotakou (The Onassis Foundation), and Ernst Fassbender (FassB Film Production).
