Daisy Edgar-Jones & Emilia Jones Topline Peroid Irish Revenge Drama ‘Bad Bridgets’ For ‘Kneecap’ Director

FilmNation, Margot Robbie‘s banner LuckyChap, and Coup d’Etat are teaming up for the new period Irish revenge thriller “Bad Bridgets,” toplined by on-the-rise actresses Daisy Edgar-Jones (“Normal People,” “Twisters”) and Emilia Jones (“Task,” “CODA”), with Rich Peppiatt set to direct.

The Hollywood Reporter shared the details about the project, which has a script inspired by the novel “Bad Bridget: Crime, Mayhem, & the Lives of Irish Emigrant Women” by Elaine Farrell and Leanne McCormick. Adding that some of the impressive crew members assembled for the pic will include “Poor Things” production designer James Price and “Crimson Peak” costume designer Kate Hawley. This is certainly a tantalizing gathering of creatives for the period project.

The brief logline for “Bad Bridgets” as mentioned by the outlet:

“A mysterious letter sets a young woman on a perilous journey from famine-ravaged Ireland to 19th-century New York, where she joins the ranks of Irish Bridgets creating mayhem in the city.”

Peppiatt is likely best known for his buzzy comedic biopic flick “Kneecap,” exploring the origins of the Irish rap group of the same name that infuses the traditional Irish language into their lyrics and have been recently outspoken against the war crimes inflicted on the Palestinian people, leading to the British government to slap memeber Liam Óg Ó hAnnaidh with a flimsy terrorist charge (later thrown out) in hopes to silence their activism as their popularity on social media increased as they spoke out in favor of peace and dismantling various pro-genocide narratives concerning the ongoing conflict (using the British colonization and occupation against the Irish people for centuries as a comparison to what is going in Gaza/West Bank).
