Netflix and Will Ferrell are behind a new pro golf comedy series called “The Hawk,” and the streamer has dropped a teaser trailer for the upcoming project, set to be released sometime in the summer.

That’s not it, as Ferrell is joined by Molly Shannon, Jimmy Tatro, Fortune Feimster, Luke Wilson, Chris Parnell, Katelyn Tarver, andDavid Hornsby among the show’s cast.

An official synopsis for the upcoming series, courtesy of Netflix:

Lonnie Hawkins (Will Ferrell), 2004’s number one golfer, struggles on the back nine of his career to recapture his magic. His body says retire, but his heart says he’s not done yet. His ex-wife and his son, Lance, golf’s new golden boy, know he’s through. But with one more major to win to complete golf’s Grand Slam, Lonnie refuses to believe he’s anything other than one stroke away from the greatest comeback in golf history.

We’re still a little in the dark about the show’s creative team, including who exactly is showrunning and writing “The Hawk.” Although given the executive producing team assembled, it sounds like it’s in the right hands. That group, which consists of Ferrell, Jessica Elbaum, and Alix Taylor at Gloria Sanchez Productions. Rian Johnson, Ram Bergman, and Nena Rodrigue are executive producers for T-Street. Chris Henchy, Harper Steele, David Gordon Green, and Andrew Guest will also serve as executive producers.

Folks might be aware of Ferrell’s viral antics at sporting events, including showing up in character as Ron Burgundy from “Anchorman” and in various other costumes. Unclear whether the project will be strictly scripted or attempt to mix reality/improvisational elements, as it will notably feature The PGA Tour (we assume real pro golfers and others from that world may appear in the Netflix show).
