‘Man Of Tomorrow’ First Look: James Gunn Shares Set Pic Of Warsuit Lex Luthor In His ‘Superman’ Sequel

Man of Tomorrow” the sequel to James Gunn‘s “Superman” reboot is already shooting down in Atlanta, Georgia and the filmmaker/studio head has revealed the first look at co-lead Nicholas Hoult in costume as the DCU super-villain Lex Luthor sporting his iconic Warsuit, which allows him to go toe-to-toe even with the might Son of Krypton, however, in the new film he’s expected to partner up with Clark for a bigger threat to the planet, Brainiac.

Gunn took to social media today to post the new pic, and it should make fans super happy that the warsuit costume looks to be as comic-accurate as anyone could hope. The suit also allows him to traverse outer space and makes us ponder if he’s on Mars in this image, potentially teasing the DCU version of Martian Manhunter joining the fray? David Corenswet and Rachel Brosnahan are also returning alongside other various cast members from the first movie.

We’re curious if we’ll be seeing other set photos or costume tests for other characters such as Lars Eidinger as Brianaic, Aaron Pierre as Green Lantern/John Stewart, and whoever Adria Arjona (“Andor”) is ultimately playing in the DCU event flick (had reportedly been set for the role of Brianic’s reluctant alien cohort Maxima, but her character has yet to be made official).

Last week, during a profile for the upcoming release of “Supergirl,” it was confirmed by co-CEO of DC Studios, Peter Safran, that Aussie actress Milly Alcock would be back as Kara for the sequel as well (being first introduced to audiences at the end of the movie).

Still unclear if Jason Momoa would be part of the cosmic romp as Lobo, but we shouldn’t rule it out entirely, given previous plans at Warner Bros. to give the alien biker bounty hunter his own solo film and the obvious cosmic aspect of the new movie. That all said, you can check out that new official set photo from the film below, as “Man of Tomorrow” heads to the big screen next summer on July 9, 2027, with “Supergirl” on deck, arriving on June 26 with some excellent new promotional material making the rounds.
