Filming on the fourth season of Mike White’s acclaimed and Emmy Award-winning hotel series “The White Lotus” has officially kicked off in France. In the announcement hailing from HBO Max, the new round of episodes will feature a plot element that will feature the Cannes Film Festival.
That’s not it, as HBO Max has confirmed that the French hotels featured in Season 4 will see real establishments like the Airelles Château de la Messardière standing in as the White Lotus du Cap, and the Hôtel Martinez as the White Lotus Cannes.

The impressive mix of veteran, newcomers, and on-the-rise talent among the cast includes Sandra Bernhard, Helena Bonham Carter, Steve Coogan, Caleb Jonte Edwards, Ari Graynor, Marissa Long, Alexander Ludwig, Max Greenfield, Kumail Nanjiani, Chloe Bennet, Charlie Hall, Jarrad Paul, Chris Messina, AJ Michalka, Dylan Ennis, Vincent Cassel, Corentin Fila, Nadia Tereszkiewicz, Heather Graham, Rosie Perez, Ben Schnetzer, Tobias Santelmann, Frida Gustavsson, and Laura Smet.

The fourth season will follow a new group of White Lotus hotel guests and employees over the span of a week, taking place during the Cannes Film Festival.
Those main French filming locations will consist of Cannes, St. Tropez, Paris, and Monaco, all making for scenic and beautiful footage for the next round of episodes from White.
This won’t be the only current award-winning TV show using these film festivals as a backdrop, as the second season of Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg’s comedic industry send-up “The Studio” will feature sequences set during the Venice Film Festival, following reports that the cast was spotted filming in the Italian city.
