‘Keeper’ Final Trailer: Tatiana Maslany Reunites With Osgood Perkins In Surrealist Horror Flick Hitting Theaters January 14

After working together on the Stephen King adaptation “The Monkey,” actress Tatiana Maslany (“She-Hulk,” “Orphan Black”) and writer/director Osgood Perkins are back together for the upcoming surrealist original horror film “Keeper,” which also has Rossif Sutherland (“Possessor”) in a co-starring role, the son of the late Donald Sutherland and brother of Kiefer Sutherland.

NEON, the film’s distributor and recently dropped a new trailer, is keeping details under lock-and-key in both press releases and their website (seemingly a mystery box approach of promotion), but a previous Deadline article from over the summer had the main logline for the pic as “Keeper” will “follow a couple as they escape for a romantic anniversary weekend at a secluded cabin. When Malcolm (Sutherland) suddenly returns to the city, Liz (Maslany) finds herself isolated and in the presence of an unspeakable evil that unveils the cabin’s horrifying secrets.”

“Jesus…Perkins has a natural talent for discomfort. Discomfort becomes anxiety, then transforms into fear,” a quote from Oscar-winning filmmaker Bong Joon-ho (“Parasite,” “Mickey 17”) shared by the studio with his reaction to “Keeper.”

That partnership between Perkins and NEON will continue with his next feature effort, “Young People,” with actors Lola Tung (“The Summer I Turned Pretty”), Nico Parker (“The Last of Us”), Brendan Hines (“The Tick”), Cush Jumbo (“The Good Wife,” “Criminal Record”), Heather Graham (“Drugstore Cowboy,” “Boogie Nights”), Johnny Knoxville (“Jackass”), Lexi Minetree (“Elle”), Lily Collias (“Good One”), and the aforementioned Maslany (her third time working Perkins) are set to be among that cast.
