Oscar-winner Yorgos Lanthimos is becoming quite the prolific filmmaker, with “Bugonia” being his latest feature, which recently landed four Oscar nominations last week, including Best Actress for Emma Stone (previously won a statue for “Poor Things”) and Best Adapted Screenplay for Will Tracy (“The Menu,” “Succession”). The director’s next big venture? A quirky Super Bowl ad for food delivery service app Grubhub called “The Final Course,” both the company and Lanthimos are making their debut at the mega-popular sports event.
Of course, we’ll have to be patient for the full ad, as Grubhub has posted a brief teaser from the upcoming ad and is expected to play during the NFL (the Seattle Seahawks facing the New England Patriots) event taking place on Sunday, February 8.

In the teaser footage, we see an elaborate dining room table full of delicious-looking food items with a group of folks hovering over the table, looking a tad suspicious of the dish that they’ve just uncovered. Only adding more questions than answering them.
Making commercials won’t be a new thing for Lanthimos; last year, he worked with Scarlett Johansson (recently tapped for a mystery role in Matt Reeves‘ “The Batman Part II“) for a Prada ad that saw the actress being cloned.
Last year, Dakota Johnson joked that Lanthimos should pause working with muse Stone to allow him to work with other actresses like her, and it wouldn’t be such a bad idea; even if Johnson wasn’t entirely serious, we wouldn’t mind seeing the trio in a project in the future. Given how quickly the director has put out his two feature follow-ups (“Kind of Kindness” and “Bugonia”) to “Poor Things,” we likely won’t have to wait too much before learning about his next theatrical project.
You can watch that teaser for the Super Bowl ad below and stay tuned for the full version expected to make its way online next month.
