Today, we have some exciting first-look images to share from the upcoming thriller ‘The Whisper Man,’ which is debuting this summer on Netflix and boasts an impressive cast led by Adam Scott (“Severance,” “Hokum”), Robert De Niro (“Killers of the Flower Moon”), and Michelle Monaghan (“True Detective,” “Gone Baby Gone”).
Scott plays a distressed and widowed crime writer who seeks help from his estranged ex-detective father (De Niro) after his young son is abducted, and their attempt to find him ends up revealing a link to the titular serial killer.
This marks yet another collaboration between the streaming giant and The Russo Brothers’ production company AGBO, which they were previously behind other high-profile Netflix flicks such as “The Gray Man,” “The Electric State,” and the “Extraction” trilogy.
Arriving August 28 and helmed by James Ashcroft (“The Rule of Jenny Pen”) is an adaptation of the Alex North New York Times bestselling novel, which has a script from Ben Jacoby and Chase Palmer.
An official logline for the serial killer film via Netflix:
When his eight-year-old son is abducted, a widowed crime writer looks to his estranged father, a retired former police detective, for help, only to discover a connection with the decades-old case of a convicted serial killer known as “The Whisper Man.”
The producing team assembled consists of Anthony Russo, Joe Russo, Angela Russo-Otstot, Michael Disco, and Kassee Whiting, alongside exec producers such as Marcus Viscidi, Tim Connors, and Alex Leb.
We anticipate a teaser trailer is just around the corner as the film’s promotion kicks off, but until then, feel free to check out the new stills for “The Whisper Man” below.
